This Privacy Policy explains how Universal Remote (“Universal Remote”, “the app”) handles information when you use the application.
Universal Remote is developed and provided by Express Buy OÜ, Estonia.
1. Overview
Universal Remote is an Android application that allows users to control compatible televisions using infrared (IR) and Wi-Fi/LAN connectivity.
Universal Remote is designed to operate primarily on the user's device. The app does not require a user account.

3. Infrared remote control
On supported Android devices, Universal Remote can use the device's infrared transmitter to send remote-control commands to compatible televisions.
Infrared commands are transmitted directly from the Android device and do not require personal information to be sent to Express Buy OÜ.
4. Wi-Fi and local network functionality
Universal Remote can communicate with compatible televisions over a local Wi-Fi/LAN network.
When you use this functionality, the app may discover or communicate with devices on your local network and process technical information necessary to establish and maintain the connection.
This functionality is used only to provide remote-control and device-connection features.
Universal Remote does not use local network information for advertising, marketing, user profiling, or analytics.
5. Remote control database and network access
Universal Remote may connect to servers operated by Express Buy OÜ to obtain remote-control configuration data necessary to support compatible television models.
These requests may involve standard technical information associated with an Internet connection, such as an IP address, as part of normal server and network operation.
Universal Remote does not use this functionality to create advertising profiles or track users across apps or websites.
6. Storage and processing of data
Universal Remote stores application settings, saved remote configurations, and related application data locally on your Android device.
Universal Remote does not provide a Universal Remote cloud account and does not operate a cloud service for storing your personal remote-control configurations.
7. Google Play purchases
Universal Remote offers an optional one-time Premium purchase through Google Play.
Purchase transactions are processed by Google Play. Express Buy OÜ does not receive or store your full payment card or banking details through Universal Remote.
The app may receive and process information from Google Play necessary to determine whether the Premium entitlement has been purchased and to restore an eligible purchase.
Google's handling of purchase and payment information is governed by Google's applicable privacy policies and terms.
8. Third-party services
Universal Remote uses Android platform services and Google Play services necessary to provide application functionality, including Google Play Billing for Premium purchases.
These services may process technical or transaction-related information according to their own applicable privacy policies and terms.
Universal Remote does not use third-party advertising SDKs.
9. Analytics and advertising
Universal Remote does not contain advertising.
Universal Remote does not use advertising identifiers for advertising purposes.
Universal Remote does not currently use third-party analytics or crash-reporting services to build user profiles or track users across apps or websites.
10. Sale of personal data
Express Buy OÜ does not sell personal data collected through Universal Remote.
11. Data sharing
Universal Remote does not intentionally transmit your saved remote configurations or application preferences to Express Buy OÜ.
Information may be processed by Android, Google Play, compatible televisions on your local network, or other system services when necessary to perform functionality requested by the user.
Standard technical information may also be processed by Express Buy OÜ's servers when the app retrieves remote-control configuration data.
12. Data retention and deletion
Application data is generally retained locally on your device for as long as it is needed by Universal Remote.
You can delete saved remote controls through the app.
Uninstalling Universal Remote removes application data according to Android's application data management and backup behavior.
Purchase records and transaction information maintained by Google Play are subject to Google's own retention policies.
13. Permissions
Universal Remote may request or use Android permissions necessary for its functionality, including permissions related to infrared transmission, Internet access, network connectivity, Wi-Fi state, and Google Play Billing.
Universal Remote does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, or storage permissions for its current functionality.
Permissions and system capabilities are used only as necessary to provide application features.
14. Children's privacy
Universal Remote is a general-purpose utility application and is not specifically designed or directed at children.
15. Security
Reasonable measures are taken in the design of Universal Remote to limit access to information to what is necessary for application functionality.
No method of electronic storage, network communication, or processing can guarantee absolute security.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Universal Remote's functionality, data practices, legal requirements, or third-party services change.
